Salary: $199,000–$247,000

What you will do

• Design and build employer and employee-facing document and guidance tools within the HR experience.
• Develop AI tools and agents to automate compliance and document workflows for HR Partners.
• Mentor other engineers to solve complex technical problems at a large scale.
• Scale and maintain one of the world's largest Ruby on Rails and React applications.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Data, and Design teams to prototype and launch customer-centric solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Must be based in New York, NY or be able to work from the office 2-3 days per week.
• Experience owning multi-quarter projects that solve complex engineering problems with measurable impact.
• Ability to drive large, cross-functional projects through ambiguity from scoping to launch.
• Active use of agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) in daily engineering workflows.
• Judgment and interest in applying AI agents and MCP tools safely in highly regulated domains.

Nice to have

• Experience building products in regulated, compliance-heavy domains such as HR, payroll, benefits, or tax.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong appreciation for a collaborative, test-driven development environment.
