TL;DR

Data Engineer (AI): Designing and deploying scalable, AI-enabled data solutions and pipelines for mission-critical DoD environments with an accent on feature engineering and ML services. Focus on transforming raw data into decision-support tools within secure, containerized cloud environments.

Location: On-site in Washington, D.C. (Must be able to work in a SCIF)

Salary: $140,000 - $165,000 a year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operationally deploy scalable AI-enabled data solutions within the CDAO ADA IR program.
• Build and manage data pipelines, pre-processing workflows, and feature engineering strategies.
• Deploy machine learning services within secure, containerized environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, full-stack developers, and mission stakeholders to create decision-support tools.
• Utilize cloud-based platforms such as Databricks, Palantir, or AWS-native data services.

Requirements

• Top Secret / SCI Clearance (Must have clearance to start)
• Ability to work on-site at a SCIF in Washington, D.C.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a focus on complex data pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with data visualization and storytelling using Palantir MSS Workshop and Slate applications.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of experience in applied data science, Palantir Foundry development, or data pipeline development.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data frameworks (Spark, Databricks, PySpark).
• Experience developing ML models using scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or XGBoost.
• Familiarity with MLOps, API development, and secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Master's degree in a technical field.
