What you will do

• Set architectural direction for the compliance control plane, including real-time screening and decision orchestration.
• Drive complex technical initiatives such as multi-vendor failover and sub-second decisioning under heavy load.
• Translate regulatory obligations into durable engineering primitives and technical roadmaps.
• Anticipate platform risks and scaling constraints to prevent incidents before they occur.
• Partner with senior leadership to align cross-functional objectives with engineering reality.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to elevate design quality and production ownership standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production backend systems with deep expertise in Java, Go, or Rust.
• Proven track record of owning architecture for complex, large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong instincts for resilience, idempotency, and high-throughput real-time decisioning.
• Excellent API design judgment (REST/gRPC) and ability to establish patterns for others.
• Experience navigating ambiguity in regulated environments and turning audit obligations into engineering plans.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, observability tooling (Grafana/OpenTelemetry), and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
