Senior Trade Advisory Associate (Classification)

Location: Must be based in the United States (Atlanta, Bellevue, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, or San Francisco).

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 USD

What you will do

• Manage and execute HS classification projects for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze and assign proper HS classifications for imported products using the Harmonized Tariff System.
• Audit classification accuracy and maintain detailed client product databases.
• Apply knowledge of Section 301 China tariffs and related exclusions to client operations.
• Document and improve internal classification processes and procedures.
• Support the broader Trade Advisory team with client deliverables, memos, and technical problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensed Customs Broker certification is required.
• 2-4 years of experience in trade compliance or classification across diverse commodities.
• Proficiency with global Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and regulatory research tools.
• Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• J.D. or graduate degree.
• Experience with Schedule B and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN).
• Background in preferential trade programs, FTAs, and GSP.
