Consultant, Health Financing

Location: Must be based in Accra, Ghana; Nairobi, Kenya; or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

What you will do

• Support the Africa CDC and Africa Frontline First Initiative in strengthening primary health care financing policies.
• Coordinate the Continental Coordinating Mechanism for Community Health (CCM) and prepare meeting reports.
• Develop financing and sustainability frameworks for community health programs.
• Conduct baseline assessments and mapping of national budget allocations versus actual expenditures.
• Provide technical support to the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) region.
• Prepare reports for virtual learning workshops and webinars on health financing.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in Ghana, Kenya, or Ethiopia.
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Finance, Public Health, or related field; graduate-level training preferred.
• Professional experience in health financing, health economics, or health systems strengthening.
• Experience partnering with governments or policymakers to provide technical advisory support.
• Strong knowledge of health financing approaches, including costing, cost-effectiveness analysis, and strategic purchasing.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills and experience with health economics methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
