Senior Consultant - Health Technology Assessment - Portugal (hybrid/home-based)

Location: Based in Spain, Greece, Portugal or South Africa; hybrid/home-based working with flexible office frequency and occasional office visits. The listed location is Porto Salvo, Portugal.

What you will do

• Lead and shape UK health technology assessment offerings within the Global Health Economics and HTA team.
• Manage client relationships, business development, project scope, milestones, and delivery strategy.
• Direct HTA projects including dossier development, submissions to agencies such as NICE and SMC, early scientific advice, and strategic HTA engagements.
• Identify challenges to product value and develop risk-mitigation strategies for market access and reimbursement.
• Manage multidisciplinary delivery teams and collaborate with Market Access, Patient-Centered Solutions, HTA Accelerator Solutions, database studies, technical consultants, and global teams.
• Support thought leadership, publications, conference materials, junior team development, and line management where appropriate.

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree or higher in HTA, health economics, economics, life sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline.
• At least four years of relevant experience preparing evidence submissions aligned with UK and/or European HTA processes, including appraisal and negotiation activities where relevant.
• Experience with UK HTA submissions and early HTA scientific advice; multi-country HTA experience is desirable.
• Project management experience, including management of multidisciplinary teams, with strong strategic thinking, communication, and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of clinical-trial design, statistical methods, and evidence-synthesis methodology.
• Fluent English is required; applications and CVs must be submitted in English.

Nice to have

• Consultancy experience, commercial acumen, and an existing network of health economics and outcomes research contacts.
• Experience with biostatistics, health economic modelling, and statistical software such as STATA or R.
• Experience contributing to white papers, peer-reviewed publications, conference abstracts, or HTA-focused research.
