Distribution Manager

Location: Wrexham, United Kingdom; onsite role.

What you will do

• Lead a 30+ person logistics team covering goods inwards, finished goods, components, cable cutting, planning allocation, and home and export distribution.
• Manage recruitment, manpower planning, training, development, performance management, and the deployment of suitably skilled labour.
• Drive productivity, continuous improvement, customer service, and KPIs including on-time delivery, on-time in full, cost per tonne, and despatch lead time.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies through 6S audits, safety audits, inspections, and action closure.
• Manage carriers, hauliers, subcontractors, drum teams, packaging suppliers, and other third-party logistics providers.
• Use SAP for reporting and goods receipting, manage invoice queries and transport invoices, and coordinate incoming affiliate cable processes.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or similar environment is preferred.
• Proven experience in a high-volume operational department and in managing a team.
• Ability to lead, motivate, coordinate, and direct a team of operators toward departmental targets and objectives.
• Self-motivation and excellent communication skills.
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
