Distribution Centre Manager (Logistics)

Location: Motherwell, Lanarkshire, United Kingdom; site-based role at the Motherwell Regional Service Centre

Salary: £64,836–£69,989 per year

What you will do

• Lead the safe performance, operational efficiency, and service delivery of the Motherwell distribution site.
• Manage two Assistant Site Managers and provide leadership to more than 170 warehouse and transport colleagues.
• Own the site budget and plan staffing and vehicle resources cost-effectively.
• Align resource planning and scheduling with seasonal volume forecasts.
• Produce daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports covering volumes, resources, and spending.
• Maintain compliance with road transport regulations and O-Licence requirements while sharing best practices across the distribution network.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience in a large corporate distribution, transport, or logistics environment.
• Transport Manager CPC qualification and current knowledge of national Road Transport Regulations.
• Strong people-management experience, including coaching and developing large teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for collaboration with senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach to continuous operational improvement.
• Strong organisation and budget-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
