TL;DR
Project Manager / Portfolio Control Lead (Engineering): Managing portfolio-level project controls for a pharmaceutical client with an accent on implementing and standardizing project control practices. Focus on consolidating performance data, driving governance across multiple projects, and coaching project controllers.
Location: Hybrid; initial presence on site 3–4 days per week in Brussels, Belgium, then aligned with company policy (typically around 2 days on site).

What you will do
- Implement and standardize project control processes (cost, planning, risk, change) across the portfolio.
- Validate and challenge project data to ensure accuracy and consistency across different projects.
- Prepare executive-level reporting and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Monitor portfolio risks, deviations, and change impacts, while driving mitigation actions.
- Manage and oversee the operational performance of managed service providers.
- Act as a functional lead and coach for project controllers and planners.
Requirements
- Around 10 years of experience in project/portfolio control within CAPEX environments.
- Strong expertise in cost, planning, risk, and change management.
- Proven experience in portfolio-level control or PMO roles.
- Proficiency with tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Planisware, and Power BI.
- Fluent English and French required.
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in Brussels, Belgium.
Nice to have
- Experience in pharma, petrochemical, or other heavy industries.
- Project management certification (PMI, Prince2, or equivalent).
- Exposure to digital tools, automation, or AI-driven analytics solutions.
- Experience in building or maturing a Project Control function.
