TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (Python/SQL/GCP): Designing and building a next-generation Data Platform to scale brokerage infrastructure with an accent on distributed query engines and low-latency streaming. Focus on building lakehouse infrastructure as code, optimizing high-volume event processing (>100M events/day), and ensuring platform reliability.

What you will do
- Design and evolve core data platform infrastructure, including distributed query engines, orchestration, and warehousing.
- Own lakehouse infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Build and maintain low-latency streaming and CDC ingestion pipelines landing in Apache Iceberg.
- Scale the BI landscape to provide performant, self-serve access to lakehouse data.
- Implement platform reliability best practices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Partner with DevOps and Analytics Engineering to close infrastructure gaps and support new requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with 2+ years operating scalable platforms handling >100M events/day.
- Strong experience running data infrastructure on Kubernetes with Docker and Helm.
- Production experience with IaC: Terraform, Ansible, and ArgoCD.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems and query engines such as Trino or Presto.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg, Kafka, Redpanda, and Debezium.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, and experience with GCP data services.
- Must be based in North America or LATAM.
Nice to have
- Experience with semantic/metrics layers (Cube, dbt, Looker).
- Familiarity with reverse ETL (Hightouch) or data cataloging tools (OpenMetadata, Datahub).
- Experience with data access control frameworks like Apache Ranger.
