What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture of modern, cloud-native data platforms.
• Design and deliver scalable data ecosystems using data mesh, data products, and data contracts.
• Build and optimize high-performance batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Work directly with clients to translate business needs into pragmatic engineering solutions.
• Set engineering standards, review designs, and mentor senior team members.
• Implement secure, compliant data solutions with a focus on observability and quality.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from London, UK.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Deep experience with Spark and modern data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Solid grasp of cloud data services on AWS or GCP.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale data platform architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience in consulting or professional services environments.
• Strong data modeling skills and architectural decision-making ability.
• Familiarity with data testing and quality frameworks like dbt, Great Expectations, or Soda.
