Junior Software Engineer (Embedded)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and document software and firmware for ATM security modules to meet customer requirements.
• Analyze data to identify and implement technical solutions for security products.
• Create and execute test procedures and software to validate system functionality.
• Perform unit testing and support integration and systems testing using CI/CD builds.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, technical leads, and QA to meet delivery goals.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues for existing security devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing software in C, C++, or C#.
• Strong methodical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of software configuration management.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite at the Discovery Centre in Dundee, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++.
• Knowledge of Symmetric and Asymmetric cryptographic frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microchip or NXP processor technologies.
• Knowledge of RTOS, embedded systems, and Linux operating system.
• Basic understanding of electronic designs.
