Senior Manager, Customer ICT, APAC (Data Centers)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; expected travel is approximately 25% and may increase over time.

What you will do

• Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of regional design packages, standards, and engineering specifications for customer ICT systems.
• Own the full design lifecycle from feasibility and concept through IFC, ensuring coordination with cost plans, schedules, and operational requirements.
• Provide customer ICT expertise to the Design & Engineering team and support sales and development teams during client meetings, presentations, and project interviews.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams across ICT, CSA, and MEP systems.
• Monitor design quality, risks, documentation, KPIs, design changes, construction issues, and value engineering opportunities.
• Lead regional design and engineering teams while promoting BIM, prefabrication, modularisation, low-carbon design, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunication engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in design engineering, design management, or related leadership roles within data centers.
• Strong knowledge of data center customer ICT infrastructure, including structured fiber and copper cabling, racks, patch panels, OSP fiber networks, carrier infrastructure, MMRs, network rooms, and telecommunications spaces.
• Experience managing full design lifecycles across complex construction projects and coordinating consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong knowledge of design coordination, change management, construction delivery, cost and schedule impacts, and applicable APAC building codes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across regional and cross-cultural teams.
