hirify.global is pioneering a modern cloud-seeding system to increase precipitation and address severe-weather challenges using atmospheric science and UAS.

What you will do

• Translate scientific measurement needs into scoped experimental or engineering plans.
• Build, integrate, calibrate, and test hardware and analysis methods for assigned projects.
• Create repeatable calibration procedures and characterize measurement uncertainty across laboratory, ground, and flight tests.
• Develop fixtures, test equipment, data-acquisition workflows, and analysis software.
• Design laboratory and flight comparisons against reference instrumentation.
• Produce technical documentation, calibration records, and reusable analysis code.

Requirements

• Background in optical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, physics, atmospheric science, or a related field.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work in El Segundo.
• Strong hands-on experimental ability and willingness to troubleshoot hardware personally.
• Quantitative programming and data-analysis skills.
• Careful scientific judgment regarding calibration, uncertainty, and validation.
• Ability to take responsibility for a bounded workstream while collaborating with mentors.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital holography, microscopy, particle imaging, lasers, lidar, or aerosol instruments.
• Proficiency in Scientific Python, image processing, or signal processing.
• Experience with UAS-borne, airborne, or field-deployed scientific instruments.
• Experience with calibration fixtures and laboratory automation.
