Technical Accounting Manager (Fintech)

Location: Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY. In-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $116,000 – $175,000 USD base pay depending on location

What you will do

• Own technical accounting research for new products and strategic transactions, drafting well-supported US GAAP and SEC position papers.
• Partner with Product and Deal teams to identify accounting implications and shape deal terms before finalization.
• Evaluate emerging areas such as crypto, digital assets, and new revenue arrangements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Financial Reporting teams to ensure accounting conclusions are consistent across statements and controls.
• Advise on technical areas including ASC 606 (revenue recognition), ASC 350-60 (digital assets), ASC 810 (consolidation/VIE), and ASC 815 (derivatives).

Requirements

• 5-8 years of progressive experience in a technical accounting role.
• Public accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 or a national firm.
• Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research accounting literature to establish positions.
• Experience designing, implementing, and documenting technical accounting policies and procedures.
• Ability to interpret complex technical guidance and present positions in written and verbal form.
