Technical Accounting Manager, New Product

Location: Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $149,000–$175,000 USD in Zone 1; additional compensation may include bonus, equity, and benefits. Other compensation zones range from $116,000–$154,000 USD.

What you will do

• Own technical accounting research and conclusions for new products, strategic transactions, and novel or judgmental fact patterns.
• Research US GAAP and SEC guidance and draft clear, well-supported accounting position papers and memoranda.
• Partner with Product and Deal teams to identify accounting implications and shape product and transaction terms.
• Evaluate emerging areas including crypto, digital assets, new revenue arrangements, and other frontier products.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, Finance, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, and external auditors.
• Advise on ASC 606, ASC 350-60, ASC 810, VIE evaluations, and ASC 815 derivatives.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of progressive experience in technical accounting.
• Public accounting experience; Big Four or national firm experience is preferred.
• Experience designing, implementing, and documenting technical accounting policies and procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research accounting literature, establish positions, and develop implementation procedures.
• Ability to interpret complex technical guidance and present accounting positions clearly in writing and verbally.
• Experience with crypto companies is a plus.
