Digital Inclusion Intern (IT): Supporting digital skill development for refugees, newcomers, and low-income families with an accent on technology access and digital literacy training. Focus on delivering technical instructions on AI, virtual reality, and basic computing to empower multicultural communities.

Location: Must be residing in San Diego County (CA, USA) and have lived locally for at least one year. Hybrid (in-person at San Diego offices and partially remote).

What you will do

• Support the intake process by conducting screening calls and determining program eligibility for potential clients.
• Perform digital skills assessments to identify technology proficiency and specific learning needs.
• Develop innovative training materials to enhance digital literacy classes.
• Provide instructions on computer and smartphone use, including fundamentals of AI and virtual reality for education.
• Offer ongoing technical support to help clients navigate digital tools and online resources.
• Assist in organizing and facilitating device donation events.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s program in Social Work, IT, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Must be currently residing in San Diego County with at least one year of local residency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Zoom; experience with Canva and SharePoint is a plus.
• Effective English communication skills; fluency in other languages (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Ukrainian) is preferred.
• Patient and dedicated approach to teaching non-technical adults.
• Ability to pass a background check and adhere to professional conduct standards.
