Commissioning Engineer (Energy Storage)

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate commissioning activities from construction through commercial operation.
• Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, including resourcing and scheduling.
• Define and perform testing protocols for project networks, control systems, and electrical systems.
• Oversee acceptance testing for battery and inverter subsystems.
• Manage the handover process from delivery teams to Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or 3–5 years of professional experience in industrial/utility construction or commissioning.
• Hands-on field experience in electric utility-scale or process-heavy industrial environments.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
• Ability to travel extensively (>90% overnight), including weekends and holidays.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and work within matrix organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience managing teams of engineers or technicians in the electric power industry.
• Knowledge of SCADA protocols (IEC 60870, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus).
• Experience with PLCs (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley) and SEL Relays.
• Understanding of high-voltage electrical equipment such as inverters and transformers.
