Electrical Engineer (Energy)

What you will do

• Act as the electrical subject-matter expert across grid connection, utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and data centre projects.
• Own electrical designs across the project portfolio, from concept through detailed design, commissioning, and handover.
• Develop single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, protection schemes, cable sizing, and earthing and bonding designs.
• Align design intent with procurement and construction, and resolve complex technical queries.
• Support technical due diligence, lender advisory, and engineering assurance across electrical deliverables.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in power, utilities, renewables, or critical infrastructure.
• Substantial high-voltage experience in the Australian market is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to produce and own electrical designs rather than only review external work.
• Infrastructure delivery experience across utility-scale solar, BESS, or grid-connected assets in Australia.
• Deep knowledge of electrical systems, substations, protection, and power distribution for generation and demand.
• Working knowledge of Australian grid and safety requirements, including AEMO technical requirements, DNSP connection standards, the National Electricity Rules, AS/NZS standards, the Electricity Safety Act, and state-based licensing requirements.
