What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing software engineering team focused on AI-powered billing automation.
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap in collaboration with Product, Finance, and Data & AI stakeholders.
• Deliver secure, scalable cloud-native applications and AI-enabled services for laboratory billing and claims processing.
• Establish engineering best practices for integrating generative AI and machine learning into production systems.
• Design integrations with enterprise platforms including ERP, CRM, and laboratory information systems.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and responsible AI adoption while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from San Diego, CA (Hybrid)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6–7 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven success delivering enterprise software and AI-enabled solutions in production.
• Experience with cloud-native applications and distributed systems, preferably on AWS.
• Working knowledge of LLMs, RAG, vector search, and AI orchestration frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, or laboratory billing.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and ICD-10.
• Experience with AI orchestration tools like LangChain or Amazon Bedrock.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps).
• Experience modernizing legacy business applications.
