Location: Onsite presence in South San Francisco, CA expected at least 3 days a week

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and empower a diverse team of software, data, and machine learning engineers.
• Architect and deploy production-grade pipelines, transitioning rapid prototypes into secure enterprise systems.
• Develop advanced AI assistants integrating LLMs through RAG, multi-agent architectures, and complex function-calling.
• Institute comprehensive evaluation frameworks, operational guardrails, and monitoring for GenAI and ML systems.
• Forge strategic partnerships with clinical and product teams to optimize data review and enrollment forecasting.
• Direct the architectural strategy for cloud-native, API-first services to mitigate technical debt.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience leading high-performing software engineering teams and complex technical initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive background in engineering management, mentoring, and talent development.
• Profound technical expertise in modern software engineering, enterprise cloud platforms, and scalable applications.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale technical projects from inception to delivery ("zero to one").
• Must be based in or able to commute to South San Francisco, CA (onsite 3+ days/week); relocation benefits are not available.
