Senior Technician, Robotics

What you will do

• Run day-to-day lab operations: bring up and maintain robots and collection hardware.
• Manage physical inventory, maintain equipment, and coordinate logistics for data collection.
• Provide technical support for data collection operations.
• Own technical readiness for new robots: partner with stakeholders to bring up robots and productionize maintenance.
• Build uptime/utilization and failure-mode tracking systems to inform leadership prioritization.
• Develop deep expertise in 2D/3D imaging and annotation, multi-sensor fusion and calibration, and GPS/INS navigation for autonomy-adjacent systems.

Requirements

• Onsite requirement: must be based in San Francisco
• 5+ years of experience in hardware labs or a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in robotics, AI, and/or computer vision.
• Experience managing risk and operating robots safely.
• Engineering background (Bachelor’s degree) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Strong project management, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively across internal and external organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience developing with Python, C++, Java, or other scripting languages.
• Experience building/maintaining lab networks and data pipelines.
• Experience running large-scale data collection and controlled experiments.
• Experience in logistics.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience.
