Equipment Automation Engineer (AI)

Salary: $165,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Define equipment and area design requirements from concept through production acceptance.
• Lead cross-functional mechanical, controls, software, and build teams through design reviews and phase gates.
• Develop frameworks for defining, designing, building, and deploying internally developed equipment.
• Partner with Factory Development and Production teams to deploy turnkey systems.
• Own project delivery, system performance, timelines, costs, and resolution of cross-functional technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, preferably electro-mechanical, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience designing and deploying automated industrial equipment.
• Proficiency designing mechanical systems in CAD, such as SolidWorks, NX, or a comparable environment.
• Experience with equipment or similar design lifecycles, including risk assessments, specifications, design reviews, and build cycles.
• Strong collaboration across mechanical, software, manufacturing, and build teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Commissioning or manufacturing environment experience.
• Hands-on experience with robotics, PLC, and motion control systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies such as pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, machining, and assembly.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with aggressive goals.
