Engineering Group Manager (Battery Systems Controls)

Engineering Group Manager (Battery Systems Controls): Leading the development of High Voltage Battery Systems Controls and Software for electric and hybrid vehicles with an accent on BMS energy management and safety-critical systems. Location: Hybrid (Must report to Milford, Michigan at least 3 times per week)

What you will do

• Lead and empower high-performing teams to deliver High Voltage Battery Systems Controls and Software solutions.
• Drive strategy and execution using Agile and SAFe frameworks to support business and product objectives.
• Manage Battery Management System (BMS) energy management software development, validation, and deployment.
• Mentor and coach engineers and technical leaders to support professional growth and career advancement.
• Establish and monitor budgets and execute workforce planning strategies.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships across engineering, program management, and vehicle development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded controls, software development, or safety-critical systems.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Milford, Michigan.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile/SAFe methodologies.
• Familiarity with AI technologies, tools, and applications.
• Proven leadership capability with a track record of leading complex technical initiatives.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an MBA.
• 10+ years of relevant technical experience and people leadership experience.
• Experience deploying scalable AI-enabled solutions for electrification products.
• Prior experience in electrification, BMS, or EV propulsion controls.
• Proficiency with Jira, Git, and INCA engineering toolchains.
• Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams.
