Consultant, Policy (Vaccines)

Location: Remote (US) / Washington DC; U.S.-based candidates required.

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state statutory, regulatory, and health policy issues affecting the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, with an emphasis on vaccine policy.
• Support project teams in solving complex client problems and developing novel policy and business solutions.
• Manage multiple clients and short- and long-term deliverables while ensuring client needs are met.
• Resolve complex client issues with minimal management oversight while managing resources and timelines.
• Manage a defined number of Associates and mentor colleagues in consulting and subject matter expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health policy, public policy, healthcare management, public health, public administration, health economics, business administration, or a relevant discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in healthcare consulting, a vaccine manufacturer, or a similar company focused on vaccine policy and market access, marketing, or commercialization.
• Knowledge of the U.S. vaccine policy and market access landscape, including differences from other medical benefit drugs and pricing, contracting, and reimbursement across Medicare, Medicaid, VFC, Section 317, Universal Purchase states, and Commercial markets.
• Experience managing primary market research projects, including IDIs and advisory boards with payers, IDNs, public health providers, and other healthcare decision-makers, and translating findings into client-facing strategic recommendations.
• Experience in project management, including budget tracking, timeline adherence, and client engagement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts concisely to executives inside and outside the firm.
• Experience overseeing and supervising staff members; analyzing policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation; and communicating findings to clients and the public.
• Sophisticated understanding of healthcare policy issues, marketplace business dynamics, and federal and state policy impacts on the industry.
• Experience reading, critically evaluating, and synthesizing scientific literature, including basic understanding of research methods, datasets, and statistical analyses.
• Situational leadership, interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving, analytic, and motivational skills, including the ability to work across functional areas and organizational levels.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience developing market access resources and promotional or non-promotional materials, managing MLR review cycles, incorporating stakeholder feedback, and shepherding content through Veeva Vault submission and approval processes.
• Ability to qualitatively describe business cases for novel vaccine products using access frameworks, distribution and purchasing or contracting models, provider economics, reimbursement adequacy, and channel strategy.
