Product Manager (Compliance by Design)

TL;DR

Product Manager (Compliance by Design): Building and optimizing automated compliance engines for embedded insurance products with an accent on KYC/KYB, sanctions screening, and regulatory integration. Focus on transforming complex legal requirements into high-performance API services and frictionless user journeys for global automotive and fintech partners.

Location: Hybrid (Brussels, Belgium). Must be able to work from the Brussels office up to two days per week.

What you will do

• Lead the product strategy for automated compliance modules including KYC, DISI, and Proof of Insurance.
• Collaborate in an empowered product trio with a designer and engineer to deliver scalable compliance services.
• Translate complex regulatory frameworks into clear product specifications and high-performance API services.
• Conduct continuous product discovery through stakeholder interviews and rapid assumption testing.
• Define and track compliance KPIs to measure impact on conversion and operational efficiency.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities to optimize verification flows and automate regulatory monitoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within Fintech, Insurtech, or Regtech.
• Strong understanding of API integrations, system architecture, and data flow analysis.
• Proven experience with modern product discovery techniques and outcome-driven development.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between legal/risk teams and engineering.
• Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Law & Technology, or Computer Science.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Brussels for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Track record of managing products involving regulatory workflows or automated verification engines.
• Familiarity with Marty Cagan's "Inspired" or Teresa Torres's "Continuous Discovery Habits."
• Experience in a company undergoing a significant strategic shift or pivot.
