What you will do
- Lead analysis of search and retrieval system performance, focusing on ranking quality and relevance.
- Define and standardize search evaluation metrics such as NDCG, MAP, recall, and precision.
- Design and lead A/B testing and experimentation frameworks for search and ranking improvements.
- Own and evolve dashboards and reporting systems to track search performance and user engagement.
- Process large-scale datasets using modern platforms like Databricks, Spark, and SQL.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to improve logging and observability of search systems.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for large-scale data analysis.
- Advanced experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Strong understanding of experimentation design, A/B testing, and statistical analysis.
- Experience defining and analyzing search/retrieval metrics (NDCG, recall, precision).
Nice to have
- PhD in a relevant quantitative field.
- Experience with search, ranking, or recommendation systems.
- Familiarity with information retrieval concepts (indexing, query understanding).
- Experience supporting the evaluation of ML-based ranking or RAG systems.
