What you will do

• Design and implement patterns for legacy displacement to migrate domains out of the monolith with zero downtime.
• Own the architectural vision for the Supply domain, defining standards and trade-offs for the wider team.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews and knowledge sharing to increase collective technical depth.
• Build new services and lead the transition of existing codebases from Go to the Spring stack.
• Partner with product managers to balance technical debt with the delivery of new business value.
• Implement system observability using Grafana and modern tracing, while leveraging AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate refactoring.

Requirements

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience in performance-sensitive, production-critical systems.
• Deep technical expertise in Java, Kotlin, and the Spring framework.
• Proven track record of breaking down monoliths and managing event-driven system migrations.
• Commitment to high quality through robust test suites (Unit, Integration, E2E).
• Strong asynchronous communication skills for effective collaboration across multiple timezones.
• Must be based in a region where hirify.global operates (Europe or USA).

Nice to have

• Practical expertise in React for frontend-related tasks.
• Experience with Go (Golang).
