Software Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Scala/Fintech): Developing and scaling key backend components of the investment platform with an accent on API design and system scalability. Focus on building high-performance APIs using Scala and ZIO and coordinating technical architecture for new client projects.

Location: Hybrid in Lisbon, Portugal (4 days office, 1 day remote)

What you will do

• Serve as the technical architect for new client projects, working directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Build elegant and scalable APIs using Scala, Akka, Postgres, and Kinesis.
• Coordinate work and guide technology decisions within the software development team.
• Collaborate with Product Management to detail requirements and review work in progress.
• Partner with Sales and Product teams to drive new business initiatives based on deep domain knowledge.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role using a modern programming language.
• Experience with REST APIs and AWS.
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience.
• Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal to support the hybrid office model.
