Salary: CAD 194,000 – 242,500

What you will do

• Lead a team of senior engineers developing the next-generation media processing stack
• Drive technical architecture decisions for low-latency, high-throughput media systems
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to define technical roadmaps
• Establish engineering excellence through code quality standards and operational reliability
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance on complex media processing challenges
• Own service performance metrics and reliability targets to ensure continuous improvement

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering management experience leading teams building distributed systems
• Strong understanding of Voice/VoIP infrastructure and media handling challenges
• Experience architecting and building scalable backend services operating under strict SLOs
• Deep knowledge of systems design, microservice architecture, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience improving developer velocity using AI tools
• Must be based in Ontario or Alberta, Canada

Nice to have

• Experience with SIP, RTP/RTCP, or other communications protocols
• Familiarity with media codecs, transcoding, and audio processing
• Proficiency in Rust, Java, C/C++, Asterisk, or gStreamer
• Experience building Voice AI products
• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms
