Senior Engineering Manager (Identity & Access Management)

Location: Somerville, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with office attendance 3+ days per week.

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and roadmap for identity and access, including SSO, SAML/OIDC federation, SCIM provisioning, multi-tenant account structures, and authorization.
• Guide identity and access decisions across hirify.global’s AWS and Azure infrastructure and represent the domain in architecture and roadmap reviews.
• Lead and develop a small engineering team through hiring, regular 1:1s, direct feedback, and quality standards.
• Build and operate security-critical systems where failures can affect production operations, compliance, and customer outcomes.
• Drive the use of AI tooling for code review, test generation, specification drafting, and agent workflows.
• Ship reliable customer-facing functionality quickly while maintaining operational excellence and tenant isolation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including production systems involving security-critical or identity and access functionality.
• 3+ years of people management experience leading, hiring, mentoring, and developing software engineers.
• Hands-on enterprise experience with OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM, including their specifications and failure modes.
• Experience building multi-tenant systems with strict tenant isolation requirements.
• Working knowledge of IAM, secrets management, and access policies across AWS and Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience; active use of AI tooling in engineering practice.
