What you will do

• Operate precision instruments and complex test devices following documented methods.
• Set up and conduct tests according to ANSI/BIFMA, ASTM, and NFPA standards.
• Analyze test results using descriptive statistics, graphs, and tables.
• Build metal, wood, or plastic test fixtures using hand tools and shop equipment.
• Write and review formal technical reports and data documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on test machinery.

Requirements

• Technical or Vocational associate’s degree in Mathematics, Science, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of mechanical testing experience in a furniture test lab.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical writing.
• Experience with electronic instrumentation such as load cells and signal conditioners.
• Knowledge of ANSI/BIFMA testing standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
