TL;DR
Safety Program Manager (Industrial EHS): Leading and sustaining facility-level Safety, Health, and Environmental programs for sustainable waste and renewable energy operations with an accent on OSHA compliance, incident investigation, environmental stewardship, and workforce training. Focus on managing regulatory documentation, investigating incidents through root cause analysis, driving corrective actions, and improving safety performance across industrial operations.

Location: Chester, Pennsylvania, USA; facility-level onsite role with physical work in industrial environments, including heights, confined spaces, outdoor conditions, ladders, and stairs.

Salary: $100,400–$133,500 USD per annum. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

What you will do

  • Lead and sustain the facility’s Safety, Health, and Environmental programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1910/1926 regulations, permits, state requirements, and hirify.global standards.
  • Monitor safety performance through KPIs, audits, field observations, inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, first-aid cases, recordable incidents, vehicle incidents, and contractor incidents using root cause analysis.
  • Manage safety training, records, regulatory reports, contractor compliance, and occupational health and medical surveillance programs.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, facility leadership, contractors, and safety committees to strengthen safety culture and operational reliability.

Requirements

  • Two to four or more years of occupational health and safety experience, preferably in industrial manufacturing, power generation, utilities, chemical processing, materials recovery, recycling, or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent industrial experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and applicable state safety regulations.
  • Experience supporting operations and maintenance activities in an industrial facility is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights and in confined spaces, wearing a full-face respirator, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Nice to have

  • Professional safety certification such as ASP, CSP, OHST, or CHST.
  • Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Program activities.
