What you will do

• Lead and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive efficiency.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff and support employee-related expense accounting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area for a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite).

Nice to have

• CPA or CPA candidate.
• Experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth startup environments.
• Experience with ERP or cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Enterprise).
• Public accounting experience.
