What you will do

• Advise internal business teams on compliance with U.S. federal and state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA) and international frameworks (GDPR, UK GDPR).
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements, including DPAs, vendor agreements, and business associate agreements.
• Develop and implement privacy policies, consent management strategies, and internal governance frameworks.
• Guide stakeholders through incident response, breach notifications, and regulatory reporting.
• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new products and services.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and product teams to embed privacy into business operations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2-4 years of experience focusing on data privacy, cybersecurity, technology law, or healthcare regulatory matters.
• Strong working knowledge of major privacy laws: GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Proven ability to manage data privacy incidents and conduct risk assessments.
• Experience with privacy technologies and tools such as OneTrust, TrustArc, or Osano.

Nice to have

• Prior in-house legal experience or substantial experience advising corporate clients.
• Data privacy certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E, or AIGP.
