Location: Hybrid (Deerfield, IL HQ) — remote days are Mondays and Fridays

Salary: $90,000 USD - $143,000 USD (base)

What you will do

• Partner with Product Management to lead technical analysis of markets, competitive landscape, and enterprise product development to identify value creation and cost reduction opportunities.
• Lead engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and design teams to run ideation, teardowns, clean sheets, prototyping, and other analyses to generate actionable insights.
• Manage product-related ideation, teardown, and design-for-manufacturing-and-assembly assessments with the cross-functional team.
• Define relevant metrics and test own and competitor products against those metrics to assess performance and opportunities.
• Oversee product readiness for testing and provide technical feasibility guidance for surveys; coordinate supplier involvement and clean-sheet activity with next-generation sourcing.
• Lead cross-functional teams to assess feasibility, cost-out, and value-add potential; drive stakeholder communication and support transfer of approved projects to execution teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience required; product development experience for consumer products preferred.
• Proven experience leading projects with accountability for results on cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated experience performing cost breakdowns of product components and understanding product development financials.
• Strong analytic skills with emphasis on critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity.
