Global Category Specialist (Power Electronics)

Location: Hybrid; available in one of five locations, with the final work location determined based on the selected candidate. International travel of up to 20–30% is required.

What you will do

• Define and execute global category strategies for IGBTs, capacitors, SCRs, thyristors, displays, and fuses.
• Lead global RFQ/RFP processes, total-cost-of-ownership analysis, cost benchmarking, and commercial negotiations with strategic suppliers.
• Develop long-term agreements and global frame contracts, managing the full contract lifecycle.
• Manage supplier qualification and onboarding with Supplier Quality Engineering and R&D teams.
• Analyze global spend, market trends, supplier concentration, component lifecycles, and obsolescence risks.
• Drive cost savings, dual-source strategies, supplier performance improvements, and alignment between global procurement and local sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5–12 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management for power electronics or semiconductor components.
• Deep technical understanding of IGBTs, thyristors, SCRs, capacitors, fuses, and display technologies used in industrial power electronics.
• Experience with global supplier negotiations, long-term agreement management, and category strategy execution.
• Experience with SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, or similar sourcing platforms, plus advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience with drives, converters, UPS, traction, or renewable energy systems.
• Italian, German, or Spanish language skills, depending on the selected location.
• CPSM, CIPS, or an equivalent professional certification.
