Global Commodity Manager (Manufacturing)

The role is associated with Dover Motion, a hirify.global subsidiary developing motion-control technologies for life science, diagnostics, microscopy, and factory automation.

What you will do

• Develop and execute global commodity strategies focused on cost, quality, delivery, innovation, supplier capability, and total value.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification through supplier selection, negotiation, implementation, and results realization.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, supplier economics, commodity trends, tariffs, and geopolitical risks to identify opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
• Manage supplier performance through segmentation, scorecards, business reviews, corrective actions, development plans, and escalations.
• Build productivity initiatives covering PPV, VAVE, negotiations, should-cost analysis, make-or-buy decisions, supplier consolidation, and low-cost-region sourcing.
• Partner with engineering, operations, quality, materials, finance, and enterprise commodity leaders while leading cross-functional teams and sourcing programs.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in procurement, commodity management, or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing global sourcing strategies, leading supplier negotiations, driving cost reduction, managing sourcing transitions, and improving supplier performance.
• Management experience leading individuals or cross-functional project teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, commercial, financial, negotiation, communication, and structured problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing; experience with Oracle, JDE, SAP, or similar systems is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain management, business administration, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience using Power BI, spend analytics, or data visualization tools.
• MBA or ISM certification such as CPSM.
