Category Manager - Professional Services

Location: Remote USA; remote home office in North America. Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is based.

Salary: $113,000–$147,000 USD per year; $96,000–$122,000 CAD per year.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sourcing and category management strategies for consultants, contract labor, staff augmentation, and professional services.
• Build supplier and staffing-partner relationships and assess capabilities, market rates, and talent trends.
• Partner with business leaders across departments to define talent needs, timelines, skills, and budgets.
• Lead RFx processes, vendor selection, rate negotiations, contract finalization, and supplier onboarding.
• Collaborate with Legal and Finance on contracts, compliance, invoicing, risk management, and employment-related requirements.
• Drive cost savings, monitor supplier performance, and report on spend, headcount, savings, compliance, and vendor metrics.

Requirements

• 8+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement experience.
• At least 3 years managing talent categories such as staffing, consulting, professional services, or contract labor.
• Proven experience with cost savings, contract negotiations, and vendor relationship management.
• Knowledge of staffing markets, talent ecosystems, professional services, HR processes, compliance, and employment law implications.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, HR, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience working across multiple geographies and time zones.
• Experience developing business cases and presentations for sourcing decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
