Cost Engineer (Best Cost Analytics, Semiconductor)

Location: Offices in Garching, Germany; Karlsbad, Czech Republic; or Budapest, Hungary. Eligible to work from an office in the EU, North America, or APAC, or work remotely full-time with occasional travel to hirify.global locations. Travel of up to 20% may be required, including domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Build cost models and establish Design-to-Cost targets for electronic components, modules, and assemblies.
• Define component-level best-cost references for hirify.global Automotive products.
• Analyze supplier quotations and break component costs down into constituent cost factors.
• Lead the technical definition and implementation of electronic system cost-modeling and analytics solutions.
• Develop technical relationships with suppliers to identify best-cost solutions and cost-improving technologies.
• Support Engineering, Product Sourcing, and Procurement during quoting and negotiation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in electronic systems cost engineering, VA/VE, design and development, or component engineering.
• Experience with complex components, modules, and assemblies, including cost breakdown and modeling.
• Technical leadership experience, including leading or reviewing the work of other cost engineers.
• Ability to solve complex technical topics, influence stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams toward financial or transformational targets.
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 20% are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience developing cost models for components, modules, or assemblies.
• Experience with automotive electronic systems and selecting or recommending automotive-grade components.
• Experience sharing knowledge and best practices and adapting to changing demands.
