Senior Field Applications Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Hybrid, field-based role primarily based in Manassas, Virginia, United States; customer-site attendance in Manassas a couple of days per week and travel up to 70% domestically with occasional international travel.

Base salary: $80,000–$120,000 yearly. Total on-target compensation: $100,000–$150,000.

What you will do

• Own first-of-a-kind product installations from site preparation and scoping through qualification and customer sign-off.
• Manage customer demonstrations as project manager and technical owner, including success criteria, timelines, resources, installation, DOE execution, data analysis, and results delivery.
• Design and lead design-of-experiment activities with customers and hirify.global R&D teams.
• Lead complex multi-site installation, qualification, standardization, and SOP activities across customer facilities.
• Present technical findings to customer engineering teams and managers while identifying application opportunities and customer pain points.
• Mentor Field Applications Engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and collaborative project work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• 4–7 years of field applications or systems engineering experience in the semiconductor or instrumentation industry.
• Experience owning complex technical projects from initiation through customer sign-off.
• Experience presenting technical findings to customer engineering teams and first-line management.
• Strong data analysis and technical presentation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 70%, travel internationally occasionally, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in cleanroom environments.

Nice to have

• Expertise in an hirify.global product line such as RGA, LD, FabGuard, VCP, or IMS.
• Experience with semiconductor processes including etch, deposition, EUV, advanced packaging, PVD, or CVD.
• Experience designing and executing DOEs in a production fab environment.
• Cross-regional or multi-site customer experience across US, APAC, or EMEA sites.
