What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases and system integrations.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexes and statistics to ensure scalability.
• Design and manage backup, recovery, and high availability/DR strategies (e.g., AGs, log shipping).
• Perform Windows Server administration, including patching, scripting, and server configuration.
• Automate routine operations using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
• Enforce database and system security using proper access controls, encryption, and auditing.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Deep expertise in SQL Server administration and managing data repositories.
• Current Top Secret security clearance is required.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC 5 days a week.
• Experience implementing enterprise data policies, procedures, and standards.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Claude (AI), SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS.
• Experience using NiFi for ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines).
• Experience with Cloud platforms and database migrations.
