Database Engineer (Oracle/AWS)

What you will do

• Manage Oracle 19c databases across both on-premises and AWS RDS environments.
• Design and implement database schemas and execute performance tuning and optimization.
• Establish robust backup and restore procedures and implement security hardening measures.
• Optimize database interactions with Java application components and Apache Solr indexing processes.
• Implement and maintain compliance controls for government systems, such as FISMA and FedRAMP.
• Develop disaster recovery plans and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience in Systems or IT related roles.
• Proven expertise administering Oracle 19c in production, on-premises, and AWS RDS environments.
• Experience designing enterprise database schemas and performing patch management.
• Ability to integrate databases with search/indexing platforms like Apache Solr.
• Experience with government compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP).
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI government clearance.

Nice to have

• TS/SCI clearance with an in-scope polygraph.
• Experience executing database migration strategies from on-premises VMware to AWS RDS.
• Experience supporting SAP Business Intelligence reporting requirements.
