What you will do
- Perform the SMF17 function and act as the firm's Nominated Officer under Money Laundering Regulations.
- Manage compliance oversight of Financial Crime Frameworks, including CDD, Transaction Monitoring, and Payment Screening.
- Provide regular financial crime risk reports to the Board and governance committees regarding SAR activity and emerging risks.
- Own and periodically refresh the firm's Financial Crime Risk Assessment.
- Oversee the AML Monitoring Program, internal/external audits, and regulatory inspections from the FCA.
- Lead the firm's financial crime engagement with the FCA, NCA, and OFSI, and manage a small team of Compliance Analysts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of strong regulatory judgement and risk-based decision-making experience.
- 7+ years of experience as an MLRO, Deputy MLRO, or senior financial crime leader within an FCA-regulated financial institution.
- Deep knowledge of UK AML, sanctions, payment services, and financial crime regulations.
- Demonstrated experience interacting with the FCA, NCA, and OFSI.
- Eligible to perform the SMF17 function, subject to FCA approval.
- Must be based in London.
