Compliance Monitoring Officer (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid. Work from home is available on Mondays and Fridays, with office attendance on other days.

What you will do

• Design and deliver structured compliance monitoring reviews across the business.
• Prepare terms of reference, testing logs, evidence, and final monitoring reports.
• Identify compliance risks, breaches, suspicious activity, and control gaps, escalating issues to appropriate stakeholders.
• Present findings to senior management and track remediation actions through to completion.
• Provide second-line assurance over Quality Assurance activities and maintain audit-ready records.
• Support regulatory reporting, horizon scanning, and compliance advice across the business.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in compliance monitoring within consumer credit, ideally including secured lending.
• Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, GDPR, DISP, CONC, and MCOB requirements.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and compliance monitoring techniques.
• A 2:1 degree in finance, law, business, or a related subject, plus three A-levels at grade B or above.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail and the ability to interpret data and identify patterns.

Hiring process

• 15-minute remote cognitive exercise.
• Interview with the Talent Partner, followed by a take-home exercise with a seven-day deadline.
• Remote or in-person interview with the Compliance and Governance Manager and Senior Compliance Monitoring Officer, followed by a final interview with the Head of Compliance.
