Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas, USA (4 days in-office)

Compensation: $470k - $615k (Total Target), including a fixed salary of $290k - $360k plus equity

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, and maintenance of high-throughput, low-latency services using Go, Scala, Java, C#, or TypeScript.
• Drive systemic performance optimizations and refactors to improve reliability, latency, and cost.
• Lead root cause analysis for complex cross-system production incidents and implement preventative measures.
• Own architectural decisions and lead system design reviews to ensure scalability as traffic grows.
• Research and leverage AI tooling and LLMs to automate manual processes and lift developer productivity.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and support their growth toward technical leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Proven track record of designing and operating distributed systems at internet scale in production.
• Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Austin, Texas office (Hybrid: 4 days in-office).

Nice to have

• Deep expertise in high-throughput distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience in Data Engineering with Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, Iceberg, or Trino.
• Background in MLOps, building infrastructure for ML model deployment and training.
• SRE expertise in observability, anomaly detection, and incident response.
• Experience building Web and Mobile SDKs for performance and security.
