Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer (Mining)

What you will do

• Identify process improvement areas and design APC solutions and control strategies.
• Use first principles models and simulation to validate and benchmark new strategies.
• Analyze plant data to develop empirical dynamic process models.
• Configure and tune multivariable predictive controller loop parameters.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and acceptance testing for large-scale optimization projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechatronic, computer, chemical, engineering physics, or mining engineering.
• Registered or eligible for immediate registration with EGBC.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation design, PLC programming, and control system configuration.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (20-30%).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of predictive control theory and experience with industrial APC platforms.
• Proficiency with Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience in simulation of industrial processes or consulting engineering.
• Skills in instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting.
