Production Application Engineer (Building Automation)

Location: Montreal, QC, Canada; specific in-office days each month

Annual base salary: CAD 85,816.66–120,084.99

What you will do

• Design, develop, configure, and test control programs and sequences for IoT devices and building control systems.
• Remotely implement, support, troubleshoot, test, and commission HVAC, lighting, refrigeration, and IoT systems.
• Collaborate with development and algorithm teams to integrate IoT devices with control systems.
• Perform analytical QA/QC testing for product validation, stability, and releases.
• Troubleshoot deployed control systems and IoT devices and support hardware products throughout their lifecycle.
• Improve test procedures, technical documentation, step-by-step guides, and product reviews.

Requirements

• Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or building environmental engineering technology, or equivalent trade or field experience.
• 5–8 years of experience with building automation and HVAC control systems, preferably in an IoT environment.
• Experience with BMS software, programming, hardware, commissioning, and protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Strong Unix/Linux experience, including navigating environments, programming, and executing commands and scripts.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as IT networking, configuration, and architecture.
• French-English bilingualism is required; full professional English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Python programming, MQTT, RESTful APIs, or Node-RED experience.
• Tridium Niagara 4 certification.
• Solution selling or pre-sales technical support experience.
