Staff Software Architect (Mechatronics Controls Simulation)

Location: Must be based in Markham, Ontario (Hybrid: 3 days per week in office).

Salary: $147,000–$196,600.

What you will do

• Provide technical and architectural leadership for the Vehicle Body Controls domain simulation roadmap.
• Define and maintain simulation architecture, addressing performance, fidelity, and scalability requirements.
• Establish variant and configuration management strategies for simulation packages across multiple programs and model years.
• Collaborate with system engineers to define Simulation Bills of Materials (SIMBOMs) for concrete CoSim assets.
• Define architectural strategies to scale CI/CD across simulation packages, virtual ECUs, and test environments.
• Conduct design reviews and drive alignment across simulation, software, and systems engineering organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded software, systems engineering, or controls, with substantial time in simulation or safety-critical domains.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ or Python and experience with automated build and CI tools.
• Proven experience as a Systems Architect or technical lead across multiple programs.
• No immigration sponsorship provided; must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Deep hands-on experience with test environments, including integration of controls and plant models.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, FMU/FMI, and SSP standards.
• Knowledge of automotive communication technologies (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and AUTOSAR architecture.
• Experience with cloud-hosted simulation and virtualization platforms.
