TL;DR

What you will do
- Lead diagnostic infrastructure software architecture development for UDS and DTC management.
- Own diagnostic application and library strategy for in-house diagnostic software, partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Create architecture diagrams and technical execution plans; deliver solutions that meet GM requirements and specifications.
- Ensure software quality via unit testing, thorough code reviews, and continuous integration check-ins.
- Review and approve Engineering Change Requests impacting GM Autonomous Vehicle Platform diagnostics globally.
- Act as technical lead: mentor developers, support manufacturing/service diagnostic teams, and resolve production diagnostic issues using communication logs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of software design and development experience focused on diagnostic software applications and diagnostic protocols (UDS).
- Strong C++ expertise (and other OOP languages such as Python).
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic serial data protocols: UDS (ISO-14229) and DoIP (ISO-13400).
- Experience reading vehicle communication logs (Ethernet bus loggers) and using Wireshark.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and communicate effectively in a team environment.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Embedded software development experience on System-on-Chips (SoCs) and familiarity with embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Familiarity with ISO-26262 and vehicle Ethernet networking.
