What you will do

• Design and develop real-time systems for automated Advertising and Fan Engagement products.
• Implement features end-to-end across the stack, taking responsibility for the full system lifecycle from development to deployment.
• Lead technical discussions and drive architectural decisions to improve scalability and operational efficiency.
• Design and maintain the foundational platform that supports iteration by multiple engineering teams.
• Improve testing and release strategies for backend services, data pipelines, and streaming services.
• Provide mentorship and leadership within the local in-office and broader engineering community.

Requirements

• Must be based in New York, NY to support an office-first hybrid culture.
• Experience operating distributed systems and building real-time systems with interactive web frontends.
• Proficiency in designing APIs and integrating services.
• Strong experience managing relational databases, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience using messaging systems, specifically focusing on partitioning and broker scaling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Rust, Kotlin, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with Postgres, AWS, and Temporal.io.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Pulsar, and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with REST, GraphQL, and video frameworks/standards.
